ABOUT
CUATRO CIENEGAS
Cuatro Ciénegas is an improbable gift water emerging in the heart of the desert, sustaining life found nowhere else.
In these waters, ancient living systems persist, carrying forward one of the oldest stories on Earth: microbial communities that, long before plants, helped produce oxygen and shape the atmosphere as we know it.
Nearby, white gypsum and selenite dunes drift like frozen tides, while the travertine mountains hold a deeper geological memory recording ancient seas, climatic shifts, and distant ice ages.
Our first visit here was marked by the return of the American bison, a quiet testament to renewal and the restoration of ecological balance.
In this spirit, we have asked you to gather in this place to mark our union; under starry skies, drawn by its quiet resilience and sense of wonder.
May it remind us that life, when nurtured, can emerge, transform, and endure anywhere.

CLIMATE
Warm days and cooler desert nights.
DAYTIME
25–32°C (77–90°F)
EVENING
10–18°C (50–64°F)
Low humidity and strong sun temperatures may feel warmer during the day and cooler after sunset.
The landscape is natural and varied, with sand, rock, and uneven ground. Occasional wind and dust are part of the environment.
We recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, as well as a light layer for the evening and footwear suited for natural terrain.
In mid October, it feels warm in the afternoon and cool in the morning and at night, ideal for outdoor events.
